We supply and install plasterboard for new homes and renovations, and we repair walls and ceilings in houses people are already living in, for home owners, landlords and small commercial jobs.
A local business, on the tools since day one
Newcastle Gyprocker Heroes started in 2016. Before that the owner was working in construction for a builder, doing plastering and rendering, and the business began as one person with one Hilux and a set of tools. He was on the tools then and he is on the tools now, running the jobs from the site rather than from a desk. That is the part that has not changed, and it is why the person who prices your job is the person who arrives to do it.
The work is plasterboard. Supplying and installing it in new homes and renovations, and repairing walls and ceilings in houses people are already living in. Customers are home owners, landlords with rental properties, and small commercial spaces such as shop fronts and offices. The edges of that are worth knowing before you call: we do not frame, we do not paint, and we do no asbestos work of any kind. We sheet and set on top of a frame somebody else has built, we leave the job ready for your painter, and anything that turns out to contain asbestos is a licensed removalist's job rather than ours.
A job usually starts with plans for a new build or a renovation, or with photographs of a repair. We price it, and once the price is agreed we set a start date and order the materials, which are part of the quote rather than something you chase. On the day the owner arrives on site with the crew. Ceilings go up first, then the walls, and the base coat goes on straight after the sheets rather than the following week. Sanding and further coats follow, cornice goes on last, and on a new build or a renovation the offcuts go into the site bin rather than being left in your driveway. Brands we supply and install
There is no favourite brand here so much as a rule: whatever the drawing or the tested system names is what goes on the wall. Between them they cover close to everything specified in the Hunter, and every one is ordered per job rather than sitting in a shed.
